The inner journey

Stages of inner growth translated into fashion

Through my fascination with mental health and storytelling through fashion, I came up with the idea to represent the 4 stages of inner growth. The four stages are: uncertainty and self-doubt, self-reflection and inner exploration, acceptance and self-love, and self-expression and self-confidence. Each outfit is designed to represent the emotional and mental transformation that occurs at each stage.

self-reflection and inner exploration

For uncertainty and self-doubt, I chose an outfit made of jogger material, as people in this phase often seek comfort and a sense of security. I also chose darker colors, as they are commonly associated with a challenging or darker period in one's life, reflecting the emotional weight often felt during this time.

For self-reflection and inner exploration, I chose a dress with multiple layers to represent the multiple challenges one faces while learning more about themselves. I also incorporated reflective fabric pieces to symbolize self-reflection, capturing the concept of looking inward and seeing yourself from various perspectives.

For acceptance and self-love, I chose a simple yet elegant dress that radiates a quiet confidence. The design is understated, not flashy or distracting, reflecting the calmness and self-assurance that come with embracing who you are.

For self-expression and self-confidence, I chose for a suit with sharp, clean lines to symbolize independence and strength. The structured design shows confidence and a clear sense of purpose, representing the power that comes from fully accepting and embracing who you are.
